Divorce Mediation

An affordable, efficient, and respectful divorce is possible with divorce mediation.

Trade courtroom stress for an outcome you can control.

If you’re looking to reduce the financial strain and stress of divorce, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re just beginning the process or what you’ve tried isn’t working, divorce mediation can offer you an easier way forward.

Traditional divorce litigation can be costly, and lengthy court battles can damage your family relationships right at the moment you’re trying to create your new normal.

But you don’t have to spend years of your life and all of your savings caught up in a court battle when you just want to move on. Mediation is an empowering alternative that can help you part ways calmly, efficiently, and with your family’s well-being in mind.

When you choose mediation, you can benefit from:

  • An affordable and effective process, which can often be resolved in just a few sessions

  • An outcome that you control, not a judge or a courtroom

  • A more comfortable and private setting, putting you at ease

  • Less emotional wear and tear, focusing on resolution instead of increasing family conflict

  • A process that lays the groundwork for better communication going forward, especially for couples with children

Divorce Mediation with The Resolved Approach

Your personal guide to divorce, every step of the way.

At The Resolved Approach, I guide you through all of the elements of a divorce, including the separation agreement, custody and parenting plans, financial arrangements, and the division of property and assets. Through a collaborative working relationship, I offer you clear, personalized guidance from start to finish.

As a neutral third party, I serve as a facilitator, helping you and your spouse reach agreement. In the mediation process, you hear each other’s wants, fears, and concerns, learn how to satisfy all of the state’s requirements for getting a divorce, and prepare to move forward calmly as ex-spouses and (if applicable) co-parents.

The mediation process includes:

  • Collecting details from each spouse about your marriage as well as the information you’ll need to bring, such as details about your property or financial situation

  • Identifying areas of disagreement and developing a plan for resolving them, either with both spouses present or in separate sessions with me

  • Listening, sharing your opinions, and negotiating so you can both resolve the situation

When you work with me as your mediator, you have a trusted navigator by your side throughout the divorce process. I help you explore the options that will work best for your family, offering you choice and possibilities instead of a one-size-fits all process. And with no worries about or constraints on billable hours, you’re able to reach me personally whenever you need. Divorce mediation can be done virtually or in-person in the Greater Greenville, SC area.

How does Divorce Mediation work?

Step 1:

We begin the process with a thorough consultation. I learn more about your situation, share different scenarios for you to consider, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2:

Through a series of joint and private sessions, I guide you and your spouse through the issues of your divorce such as division of property and parenting plans. I remain neutral, not favoring either of you as I help you reach a mutual agreement.

Step 3:

You receive a fully-prepared and agreed-upon separation agreement, and I walk you through the remaining steps you’ll take to complete your paperwork and obtain your official divorce judgment.

Divorce mediation services, customized to your needs

Effective, affordable, and personal support.

Mediation shouldn’t be a luxury. At The Resolved Approach, I’m committed to providing you with an approachable, affordable process.

I offer divorce mediation at an hourly rate of $50 - $300, on a sliding scale based on need. I’m able to make mediation financially accessible for everyone and do not turn anybody away based on their financial situation, so I invite you to reach out to me for support regardless of your budget.

Because each divorce is different, there’s no one-size-fits all package. The number of hours and sessions will depend on the particulars of your divorce, but even couples with many issues to discuss can reach resolution in 3-5 regularly scheduled sessions.

You’ll finish mediation with:

  • A separation agreement that you designed and represents both of your interests

  • Completed paperwork and other requirements to present to the court to expedite the divorce judgment

  • New skills and the foundation to reduce conflict and improve your future communication

  • Real resolution, allowing you the freedom to truly move forward
